JFK: "Ask not what your country can do for you..."

REPOST because this is as relevant as ever...

The airwaves are full of JFK, his career, his politics, reminiscences of this day, and a rehashing of all the conspiracies - ad nauseum - surrounding his assassination.

Over the years, everybody and his dog has written books about this President. Many, many articles have been published by those claiming even the most tenuous connections to the private man and the president. I will not add to any of that, BUT I am remembering this part of his Inauguration Speech:

My fellow Americans, ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.

Tune out all the politics, all the noise, all the *expert* commentary, and it seems to me that now, more than ever, we should each be mindful of how much our America needs each of us to ask - and answer - ourselves this question.

It is said that those who do not learn from history, are doomed to repeat it. America is at a watershed moment, a time of great opportunity.  What are YOU doing to ensure the survival of the American ideals???
